My Story
My name is Allison F. I began playing softball in kindergarten at a recreational level, and by the time middle school started I was playing it year round on a competitive travel team. I'm now a senior in high school and have had the privilege of playing on the varsity softball team since my freshman year. Throughout my time as a softball player, I've learned lessons on how to improve both mentally and physically.
Softball is an extremely mentally taxing sport; it's a game where getting a hit three times out of ten is a success. I, as a lot of other players do, tend to put a lot of pressure on myself to perform at my best, and then some. I've experienced the highs and lows of the sport, and through it all I've searched for ways to ease this stress and form enough mental toughness so that I can bring my game to another level in ways other than physical improvements.
This website is only one part of my Girl Scouts Gold Award Project, which focuses on mental toughness in softball and aims to bring this strength to as many young athletes as possible so that they can find greater enjoyment and skill in this game that I love so much. I hope you enjoy it and find the help you need here!

What is the. . .
GOLD AWARD
The Girl Scouts Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting; by developing and carrying out lasting solutions to issues in our neighborhoods and beyond, we can earn this prestigious award and make an impact on our community. Through my experience, I've honed my leadership skills, formed new connections, and grown a greater understanding for others to develop into a better person on all fronts.
